Students received reflective bracelets

With the help of "Raiffeisen Bank Aval" two thousand children received reflective bracelets that help to be seen in the dark. In particular, during February special bracelets were provided to students of school educational institutions. "The problem is that pedestrians are hard to be seen on the road in the dark. This leads to numerous accidents. To reduce the number of victims and protect them from accidents - we handed out reflectors to children to be visible on the road, "- said the head of Campaign of Road Safety "Safe City " Oleksandra Paniak. According to the campaign information, the driver can see the pedestrian in the night-time from a distance of 30 meters if the pedestrian wear reflective bracelet - this distance increases to 150 meters, and with it the chance that the driver has time to hit the brakes. "Especially important is not to forget using reflectors (tapes, stickers, bracelets) in the night-time, and when there is fog, sleet or rain, because it is hard for a driver to slow down " - said Julia Efremova campaign volunteer. The bracelets were given during the training courses as a part of the campaign “Safe City”.
